Teens and Young Adults
Check Out Books, DVDs, and Other Materials
*Get a Library Card. To begin checking out items from our library (including digital holdings), stop by to get a library card. It does not cost anything, and children under 14 are eligible to get a card in their own name provided that a parent/guardian provides a signature and verifies their contact information. See our full policy on cards here.
*Sign Up for Coming-Due Email or Text Reminders. Want help remembering when your books will be due? Ask the staff to change your notification preferences to text or email you 3 days before an upcoming due date.
*Control Your Account Online. Renew, reserve, and see what items you have checked out by using the library's online catalog. Your user name is your library barcode, and the password is the full 10-digit phone number we have on file for your account.
*See the Material Types We Carry. Our Teen Section, general collection, and online library provide the following materials for checkout:
- YA ('Young Adult') Fiction Books
- YA Nonfiction and Biography
- YA Audiobooks
- Graphic Novels
- Online eBooks
- Online Audiobooks
- Video Games
*Interlibrary Loans. Interested in something we don't have? Let us know, and we may still be able to get it in for you! Stop by the library and ask about an Interlibrary Loan.
*Reader's Advisory (Recommendations). If you want something fun to read but you can't seem to find anything good, let us help out with some personalized suggestions!
*Ask a Librarian. Need information in a hurry? Not sure how to find what you're looking for? Click here to ask a librarian using an online submission form, or feel free to call us or stop by at the desk. (Keep in mind that we cannot directly answer homework questions for you, but we can point you in the direction you need!)
*Browse Our Post-Grad Answer Section (includes ACT/SAT help). Not sure where you're headed after high school, or want more information about what your next step involves? Visit "Post-Grad Prep and Planning".
